- Clean drinking water. Protecting land around rivers and headwaters keeps pollution out of the water we drink.
- Farms that stay farms. Willing landowners can sell a conservation easement and keep fields and forests working for good. The brochure notes about 6,700 acres of farmland were lost in five years.
- Wildlife and wild places. Woods, streams and wetlands give deer, trout and songbirds room to live.
- Natural flood control. Protected land along the Reedy, Saluda, Enoree and Tyger soaks up heavy rain and keeps it out of homes and off roads downstream.
